We also have some other ideas of how to sleep a little greener in Oahu:

Stay in one of the more authentic, local, and green areas of Oahu rather than Waikiki or Honolulu. Examples include the North Shore or Kailua/Kaneohe.

Look for local, privately owned accommodation options like vacation rentals or small hostels. Supporting our local economy IS more sustainable and environmentally friendly for our islands (not to mention you are way more likely to have a much better and more unique travel experience).

Look for accommodation options that have some sort of green philosophy for running their business such as solar powered electricity, solar water heater, composting, water conservation, etc.
