Description & Information from the Owner
Our house is located on the north shore of Oahu, less than 2 miles west of Sunset Beach, the world famous surfing beach, and about 1 1/2 miles west of Backyards (Velzyland), which is an equally well-known windsurfing site. A lesser known and uncrowded surfing area is offshore from our property. We are directly on the ocean, with year-round sunsets, and whales passing by during the winter months. The house sits on a flat, rocky reef, with sandy beaches a very short walking distance in either direction. An offshore reef protects us from the pounding waves, and provides safe swimming and snorkeling. Honolulu is a 1 hr drive away and we are also directly on the bus line.
The vacation unit is in a separate wing of the main house and has its own private entrance. It shares a large deck overlooking the water, with tables, lounge chairs, and a small charcoal barbecue. It is an upstairs-downstairs arrangement, with a large, airy BR upstairs, and a small sitting room and full bath below (both with ocean views).
The BR contains a king bed (convertible to 2 beds, if needed), TV, VCR, drawers, and hang-up space. The downstairs contains a couch (with pull out bed), TV, VCR, small refrigerator, microwave, single burner hot plate, coffee maker, toaster, TV tables, dishes, and utensils (using the bathroom sink for cleanup). There is NO KITCHEN OR STOVE. We also have a washing machine/dryer available for guest use. As with many other ocean front homes on the North Shore, we are located on the around-island hwy, so there is some vehicle noise in the BR at certain times (not heard in the sitting room or deck).
ALSO: Continental breakfast for the 1st 3 days (muffins, juice, tea and coffee). Secure parking behind a locked gate.
