Oahu, Hawaii Camping - State Campgrounds, County Campgrounds
There are 19 total campgrounds to choose from in Oahu, 4 state campgrounds and 15 county campgrounds (1 county campground is currently closed).
The only private campground in Hawaii that's more than worth the price AND worth a trip to the Big Island just to check it out - Lova Lava Land Eco-Resort.
Oahu State Campgrounds
See the main camping page for Hawaii state-wide camping permit procedures, rules, prices, & exceptions. Oahu campgrounds are an exception in that they are only open from Friday - Wednesday and that they will allow permit applications only 30 days before the arrival date. The permit application process is different for Malaekahana State Recreation Area (Ph: 808-293-1736) because reservations are taken directly by the concessionaries, not the state office.
